The Journal of the International Association of Tibetan Studies (JIATS) is an online, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal. JIATS is an official publication of the International Association of Tibetan Studies (IATS), which organizes the world’s major conference for Tibetan Studies, the results of which are published in the Proceedings of the International Association of Tibetan Studies (PIATS) series. All scholars of Tibet, whether members of IATS or not, are welcome to submit work for publication in JIATS. JIATS is hosted by the Tibetan and Himalayan Digital Library, which presents collaborative projects in Tibetan and Himalayan Studies over the web.

The JIATS Mission:

* To provide an easily accessible scholarly journal through the worldwide web in order to link the international community of Tibetan Studies.
* To provide a forum for original research in all fields of Tibetan Studies, including those that integrate digital media. Research will be published in the form of articles, brief communications, translations, and critical editions of texts.
* To provide scholars in the field with information about current scholarship in the form of reviews of recent publications.
* To serve the Tibetological community by providing news relevant to the field (including conferences, research initiatives, new book series, and translation projects).

Way #1: Peck.

Our collection of online journals (above) is listed and sorted by topic for users to survey. The sites listed are the sites searched by the corresponding CSE. Survey the sites, find one you like:

If it has an asterisk clicking it will pull up in the right column a posted abstract, selected from the site's own "About" page, or whatever it's equivalent is. The link to the site itself will be clearly situated in the first line of the abstract.
If it doesn't have an asterisk clicking it will take you directly to the journal's home page.

Way #2: Pigeonhole.

1. Find the embedded CSE of your choice (on the left), and…
2. Enter query.
3. Wait approximately 0.15 seconds.
4. Google will search the journals listed under the topic, providing just what you're looking for.

Search Pigeon is a collection of Google Co-op^TM Custom Search Engines (CSEs) designed to make researching on the web a richer, more rewarding, and more efficient process.

Designed for researchers in the Arts and Humanities, with a decidedly interdisciplinary bent, the objective of Search Pigeon is to provide a tool enabling the productive and trustworthy garnering of scholarly articles through customized searching.

Right now SearchPigeon.org provides CSEs that search hundreds of peer-reviewed and open access online journal, provided they are either English-language journals, or provide a translation of their site into English. The guiding philosophy behind Search Pigeon is that the production of trust and knowledge is fundamental to the transformation of society, from the well-being of individual minds and bodies to the healthy operation of large and complicated human networks and institutions. This production is a matter of cooperation and dissemination. So Search Pigeon in the long-view is a practical experiment in the way things spread.
